VitaMedica's Healthy Skin Formula is a nutritional supplement that provides internal skin care by enhancing the body's natural systems for repairing, cleansing and healing. The supplement is intended as an adjunctive therapy to the topical products and/or treatments that skin care professionals recommend for acne patients.
Many topical treatments for the care of acne and inflammatory disorders of the skin are currently available. While effective, these regimens contain products that produce an action primarily on the outer layer of the skin. Although the topical approach represents the foundation of good skin care, it also makes sense to address what is going on internally. That's because what you put inside your body may be just as important as what you apply externally.
Other acne treatments, including prescription medications such as antibiotics and Accutane®, can display potent activity but may have significant side-effects. Natural medicines tend to be milder, safer and are far less likely to cause negative reactions.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
The recommended dosing of Healthy Skin Formula is 2 capsules per day, taken with food to maximize absorption and minimize gastrointestinal upset. The capsules may be taken together or in divided doses.
Higher doses of Healthy Skin Formula may be appropriate for individuals with moderate acne when adding the supplement to their skin-care regimen. However, to avoid potential gastrointestinal discomfort, patients should start with two capsules per day for a few days. Provided the patient is not experiencing any GI discomfort or other symptoms, then the dosing may be gradually increased to 4 capsules per day.
Healthy Skin Formula is not indicated for continuous long-term use. The product may be used for periods of 12 months duration, but should be discontinued for at least 2 months before initiating a subsequent 12 month cycle of the product.
CONTRAINDICATION:
Healthy Skin Formula contains Vitamin A. If you are presently taking Accutane (isotretinoin) for the treatment of acne, please refrain from taking Healthy Skin Formula until the end of the treatment cycle.
