D'LYNN'S ANSWER: This is a great question and I sometimes have the same problem. I am always a fan of the easy skin care systems that target a specific problem and can be purchased in an easy to use kit.
SkinMedica has a simple 3-step Acne System designed for the treatment of acne that contains an Acne Treatment Foaming Wash which contains salicylic acid, an Acne Toner that also contains salicylic acid, and an Acne Treatment Lotion that contains benzoyl peroxide. These are leading acne fighting ingredients with an advanced microparticle delivery system to control acne conditions and eliminate excess oils without irritation.
Another product to consider is Pumice Cleanser by Clinical Formula, which is one of our best selling and favorite products among the dermatologists in our practice. Pumice Cleanser contains a benzoyl peroxide solution in a slightly grainy liquid soap formula that kills bacteria on contact. It can be used on the face, scalp, or as a body scrub.
Facial Shampoo, also by Clinical Formula, is another excellent cleanser for sensitive to oily skin types.
I would also highly recommend using some sort of retinol product at night to accelerate exfoliation and help open pores to help with the prevention of blackheads.
