What can I use for brown spots that started showing up recently from being in the sun?

QUESTION:  What can I use for brown spots that started showing up recently from being in the sun?

D'LYNN'S ANSWER:  There are a several things you can do to help with this problem, but one of the easiest is probably to invest in one of the skin care kits that are designed specifically to help with hyperpigmentation.

iS Clinical offers a Hyperpigmentation Signature Kit which contains a cleanser, two serums, and a sunscreen which target this specific problem.  The two serums that come in the kit will help with pigmentation issues.  They are the Super Serum, which is applied in the morning and contains L-ascorbic (vitamin C) ,arbutin (which helps to control uneven pigmentation), and kojic acid (which also helps to control uneven pigmentation). Secondly is the Active Serum which is applied at night and also contains a blend of arbutin and kojic acid.  The sunscreen is included to help prevent further damage.

If you do not wish to purchase the entire kit, you can purchase both Active Serum and Super Serum individually.

If you do not like serums, I also recommend the Caliderma Brightening Cream which contains three different compounds - kojic acid, hydroxy acids and vitamin C.  All three of these products are shown to inhibit melanin production and this gentle formula may be used on the face, hands arms and shoulders.  You may have some initial slight redness and swelling with this product, which is normal.

Lastly, invest in a great sunscreen. We have many different kinds depending on your skin type. If you are outdoorsy, I would suggest at least a SPF 30.  Make sure it is broad spectrum uva/uvb protection if possible and apply every 3-4 hours as directed.  I also love the powder sunscreen.  It's great for applying throughout the day, which is great if you wear makeup.  The one I use most often is also by iS Clinical, Sunscreen Powder SPF 20.
